A new video of the composition “El Maleh Rachamim” (Merciful Lord)

A new video of the composition “El Maleh Rachamim” (Merciful Lord), created by Baruch Berliner, Nachum Slutzker, and the late Sergey Krutsenko is now accessible on Baruch Berliner’s YouTube channel.

The piece serves as the soundtrack for the film Address on the Wall, which recounts the World War II tragedy at Babi Yar. “El Maleh Rachamim” is also part of a Holocaust memorial project presented on www.elmalehrachamim.com, where diverse performers and orchestras contribute their renditions to pay tribute and commemorate the victims.

This time, the Israel Ballet’s principal performers—Vladimir Dorohin and Katerina Pisetsky Karn—presented a dance version of the composition.

The Israel Ballet dance company is celebrated for its interpretations of both classical and neoclassical ballet works. The only professional ballet company in Israel to perform pieces from the classical international repertoire, it frequently stages newly choreographed works and tours internationally.

The company is based at the new Israel Ballet Center in Tel Aviv, which features the country’s largest rehearsal hall, seating 250. The Israel Ballet has represented its homeland on international tours and at major festivals across Europe, Asia, and America.

The video showcases “El Maleh Rachamim” performed by cellist and Grammy nominee Dmitry Yablonsky and pianist Oksana Yablonskaya, a professor at the Juilliard School, one of the leading American institutions for arts and music.
