Choral version of “El Maleh Rachamim” premieres

A choral version of Baruch Berliner’s composition “El Maleh Rachamim,” featured in the movie Address on the Wall depicting the WWII tragedy of Babi Yar, premiered worldwide on the composer’s YouTube channel.

The Blagovest Moscow choral ensemble, conducted by Denis Anzigitov, performed the composition and recorded it at the studio of the Popov Academy of Choral Art.

Blagovest was formed in 1987 by Galina Koltsova, a merited artist of Russia, who conducts the ensemble to this day. Since 1992, it has served as the official choir of Moscow’s Department of Culture. Blagovest has performed in Russia and beyond with major orchestras, such as the Symphony Orchestra of Russia conducted by Veronika Dudarova, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra led by Vladimir Fedoseyev, the Novaya Rossiya symphony orchestra under the baton of Yuri Bashmet, the Russian National Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Pletnev, and the Russian State Symphony Cinema Orchestra led by Sergey Skripka.
