Jacob’s Dream is a violin concerto inspired by the familiar biblical tale of Jacob, who beheld in a dream a ladder reaching to heaven and the Lord Himself promising blessings to him and his descendants.
The piece was performed by the Municipal Philharmonic Orchestra of Guayaquil under the baton of guest conductor Manuel Campos Loor (Ecuador), alongside the distinguished violinist Jorge Saade, widely regarded as Ecuador’s foremost violin player.
Regarded as Ecuador’s most distinguished violinist, Jorge Saade has performed concerts and solo programs at top venues in 45 countries across North and South America, Asia, Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, appearing as a guest soloist with many of the world’s most renowned orchestras.
Mr. Saade has twice been awarded the National Order of Merit—Ecuador’s highest distinction. He serves as Director General of the Philharmonic Department of the Municipality of Guayaquil, Honorary Consul of Belgium in Guayaquil, professor of violin, viola, chamber music, and ensemble at the University of the Arts of Ecuador (UArtes) in Guayaquil, and honorary professor both the National Conservatory of Music in Guayaquil and Ricardo Palma University in Lima, Peru.
