“Jacob’s Dream” in South America!

The concerto for cello and orchestra “Jacob’s Dream” by composer Baruch Berliner and producer Nachum Slutzker is on tour in South America from May 20 to June 8, 2023.

The work will be performed in Brazil, Peru, Colombia and Ecuador by the famous conductor and cellist Dmitry Yablonsky and his orchestra “Virtuosos of Kyiv”.

Dmitry Yablonsky is a Russian and American conductor and cellist, Honored Art Worker of Azerbaijan; he has a Grammy nomination for “Best Instrumental Soloist Performance (with orchestra)”.
As a cellist, he has recorded a number of discs, including a double album with David Popper’s Higher School of Cello Playing, concertos for cello and orchestra by Aram Khachaturian and Nino Rota, sonatas by Dmitri Shostakovich and Mieczysław Weinberg.

As a conductor, he performed with such ensembles as the Belgian National Orchestra, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and many others. He has recorded more than 70 CDs.

Dmitry Yablonsky is also the artistic director of the Gabala International Music Festival.

In Portugal, “Jacob’s Dream” will be performed in a version of a concert for violin and orchestra performed by the brilliant Gaik Kazazyan.

Hayk Kazazyan is a soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic, a laureate of international competitions, a teacher at the Moscow Conservatory, one of the most sought-after young musicians of his generation, performing with constant success in Russia and abroad.
