New Video: Genesis Symphonic Poem Premieres in Florence

A video of the Florence premiere performance of the Genesis symphonic poem has been released on Baruch Berliner’s YouTube channel.

Genesis stands as a defining work of Dr. Berliner’s oeuvre, reflecting the two enduring influences that have shaped his life: music and faith. Drawing on the biblical story of Creation, the composition is guided by a central philosophical idea: that every person is equally capable of choosing between good and evil.

Genesis was performed at the Church of Santa Felicita by the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina under the direction of Lior Shambadal.

Mr. Shambadal is an Israeli conductor and composer whose recordings and television projects, together with his appearances as a guest conductor with orchestras around the world, have earned him international recognition. He is the founder of a composers’ collective Acoustic 7/11 and the contemporary music ensemble Musica Nova. As a composer, Shambadal has built a distinguished artistic profile across a wide range of genres, from chamber music and songs to large-scale symphonic works.
