Orenburg Choir Participated in the Premiere of the Oratorio “Abraham” in Moscow

The Abraham oratory premiered on May 31 in Moscow, becoming the centerpeice of the Easter Festival.

The performance brought together eminent choral ensembles from Russia and abroad, including the Orenburg Chamber Choir led by Honored Artist of Russia, Professor Olga Serebriyskaya, the Grand Symphony Orchestra of Kosygin State University (Maimonides Academy), and a stellar lineup of renowned musicians playing the solo parts.

Written by Israeli composer Baruch Berliner, the oratorio was expanded and arranged by composer Andrey Pospelov from Moscow. The large-scale musical work was presented by conductor Boris Tarakanov.

The powerful resonance of the symphony orchestra in Russia’s largest Catholic cathedral intertwined with a poignant choral performance in Hebrew and an artistic recitation in Russian.
