Premiere of Fantasia Concertante – concerto for piano and orchestra
On October 12, the Voronezh Philharmonic hosted the premiere of Fantasia Concertante, a concerto for piano and orchestra based on the Symphonic Poem Genesis.
The work was performed by pianist Philipp Kopachevsky and the Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Kirchhoff.
Philipp Kopachevsky was born in 1990 in Moscow. He graduated from the Central Music School at the Moscow Tchaikovsky Conservatory, the Moscow Conservatory and completed his postgraduate studies (class of Professor Dorensky). He performed with the Evgeny Svetlanov Russian Symphony Orchestra, the Mariinsky Theater Symphony Orchestra, the Russian National Orchestra, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the St. Petersburg Philharmonic, and the English Chamber Orchestra. He collaborated with conductors Mstislav Rostropovich, Evgeny Kolobov, Vladimir Spivakov, and Paul Watkins.
Philipp Kopachevsky is also a participant of the “Stars of the 21st Century” project of the Moscow Academic Philharmonic.
