Recording of “El Maleh Rachamim” released

A recording of “El Maleh Rachamim” (“Merciful God”) has been released. The composition was performed by the Blagovest sacred music ensemble, conducted by Denis Anzigitov. The recording was made in the spring of 2024 at the studio of the Popov Academy of Choral Art.

Blagovest was founded in 1987 by Galina Koltsova, a merited artist of Russia, who conducts the choir to this day. Since 1992, it has served as the official choir of Moscow’s Department of Culture. Blagovest has performed with major orchestras in Russia and internationally, collaborating with renowned ensembles such as the Symphony Orchestra of Russia conducted by Veronika Dudarova, the Tchaikovsky Symphony Orchestra led by Vladimir Fedoseyev, the Novaya Rossiya symphony orchestra under the baton of Yuri Bashmet, the Russian National Orchestra conducted by Mikhail Pletnev, and the Russian State Symphony Cinema Orchestra led by Sergey Skripka.
