Bogdan Bogomaz
Born in Krech, Crimea, Bogdan Bogomaz started learning the violin at the age of five.
In 2014, he moved to St. Petersburg to study under Larisa Baranova at the Rimsky-Korsakov School of Music. In 2016, he won the Savshinsky International Competition held in St. Petersburg and Stockholm. The following year, Mr. Bogomaz embarked on a tour of Spain, supported by the Russian Ministry of Culture.
In 2017 and 2018, Mr. Bogomaz attended the International Music Academy in Mürren, Switzerland, completing master classes led by Maxim Vengerov, Grigory Kalinovsky (Russia-US), Antal Zalai (Hungary), Vadim Gluzman (Israel), and Zakhar Bron, with the last session recorded by the Rossiya-Kultura channel.
In 2019, he performed at the Auer.Legacy festival in St. Petersburg, where he took a master class conducted by K. Baráti (Hungary), winning the festival’s competition.
Since 2020, Mr. Bogomaz has studied at the Tchaikovsky Moscow State Conservatory under the supervision of National Artist of Russia Prof. Vladimir Ivanov and Prof. Elena Chvertok; he is a frequent presence at Conservatory events and festivals. In 2024, he joined as a solo artist a contemporary classical music project based in Moscow and St. Petersburg.
In November 2024, he performed in the Kogan-Fest international competition, receiving the Audience Choice Award and a Special Prize from the jury chair, Merited Artist of Russia Sergey Kravchenko. Since 2024, Mr. Bogomaz has collaborated with composer Baruch Berliner and producer Nachum Slutzker.
Mr. Bogomaz’s style of play is often regarded as vibrant, colorful, lyrical, and expressive. Musically sensitive, sincere, and bold on stage, he exhibits remarkable technical prowess, enabling him to perform even the most challenging compositions with mastery.
