Natalia Erte

Natalia Erte was born in St. Petersburg in 1988. At the age of six, she was named the laureate of the First International Competition for Children and Youth, “A Step Toward Virtuosity.” She graduated in 2006 from the Musical School at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory, where she studied under the supervision of Prof. Pyotr Laul (piano), Merited Artist of Russia, Prof. Natalya Arzumanova (chamber music), and Prof. Irina Vasilieva (concert performance). In 2016, Ms. Erte completed her postgraduate studies in chamber music at the Rimsky-Korsakov St. Petersburg State Conservatory under the guidance of Merited Artist of Russia, Professor Sergey Uryvaev. Since 2017, she has been working at her alma mater in the Department of Chamber Ensemble and as an accompanist in the Orchestral Faculty.

Ms. Erte participated in the International Summer Academy for Young Artists at Bayerische Musikakademie Marktoberdorf in 2006, 2007, 2008, and 2010 and the Altensteig Summer Music Workshop in 2007 and 2008. She also took part in master classes led by Willem Brons, Hatto Beyerle, Liza Smirnova, Ian Partridge, and other renowned musicians.

A laureate of the 13th Maria Yudina International Competition in 2017 (1st prize), Ms. Erte also distinguished herself at the Fourth International Competition “Contemporary Art and Education” held in Moscow in 2009, receiving a diploma. As part of chamber ensembles, she became a laureate of the 5th Maria Yudina International Competition in 2003 (2nd prize), the Gartow Stiftung Chamber Music Competition in 2004 (Germany, 3rd prize), and the International Chamber Music Competition “Charles Hennen Concours” in 2006 (Netherlands, 1st prize and special award).
Ms. Erte performed at a variety of festivals, such as Musical Spring, From Avant-garde to the Present, Palaces of St. Petersburg, and Silhouettes of the Silver Age. She has also appeared as a guest accompanist at the Young Opera Singer Competition “Saint Petersburg” (2009), the Leopold Auer Competition (2018), and the 4th All-Russian Musical Competition (2022).

Ms. Erte is a prominent presence in the concert scene of St. Petersburg and other cities across Russia. She regularly performs solo programs, supplemented with her own commentary and discussions about the music. Frequently premiering works by contemporary composers, Ms. Erte places particular emphasis on performing chamber ensemble music in various instrumentations and preserving and developing pedagogical traditions in this field.
