Pedro Araújo Santos
Pedro Araújo Santos is an actor, director, writer and teacher from Madeira Island.
He began his studies in Theatre at the Conservatório – Escola Profissional das Artes da Madeira. He went on to Middlesex University in London, where he completed the BA Theatre Arts course. He did an Erasmus project at Glasgow Kelvin College in Glasgow, Scotland, in Drama and Musical Theatre. He is also a member of the National Youth Theatre, a renowned British theater company.
He frequently works around the globe as a writer of texts for theater, director and actor.
He makes a habit of directing and producing the texts he writes. He teaches drama at the Conservatório – Escola Profissional das Artes da Madeira. As an author, he has published Tempo Limite, a dramatic work for two actors. Other texts he has written for the theater include Ecografia, Pedro Bond: Um Novo Espião and O Feiticeiro da Calheta, based on the work and research of Eugénio Perregil, among others. He often works with the Madeira Classical Orchestra as an actor/narrator. He has performed Vila Compasso: Um Conto Musical with João Gaspar conducting, Concerto de Carnaval 2022 with Luís Andrade conducting, Pedro e o Lobo by Sergey Prokofiev, with the Quinteto Atlântico and, now, the symphonic poem Genesis by Baruch Berliner.
