Philipp Kopachevsky

Philipp Kopachevsky is a Russian pianist who has been collaborating with composer Baruch Berliner and producer Nachum Slutzker since 2023.

He graduated from the Central Music School at the P. I. Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory, class of Kira Shashkina (2008), Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, class of Professor Sergei Dorensky (2013). Since 2013 he has been a graduate student at the Moscow Conservatory (in the class of Professor Sergei Dorensky).
Philipp is a soloist of the Moscow State Academic Philharmonic and a participant of the federal program of the Moscow Philharmonic “Stars of the 21st Century” (supported by the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation).

He has performed with the best orchestras, including the English Chamber Orchestra, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow Philharmonic, the Symphony Orchestra of the Moscow New Opera Theater named after E.V. Kolobov, the Bolshoi Symphony Orchestra named after P. I. Tchaikovsky, the Russian National Orchestra, the National Philharmonic Orchestra of Russia, the Moscow State Academic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Pavel Kogan, the New Russia State Symphony Orchestra, the State Symphony Orchestra of Russia named after E. F. Svetlanov, the Academic Symphony Orchestra of St. Petersburg Philharmonic.
He has collaborated with renowned conductors such as Mstislav Rostropovich, Vladimir Spivakov, Mikhail Pletnev, Evgeny Kolobov, Yuri Simonov, Alexander Dmitriev, Andrew Gourlay, William Noll, Bjarte Engeset, Charles Olivieri-Munroe, Evgeny Bushkov, Maxim Vengerov, Paul Watkins.
The musician’s concerts are regularly held in the UK, USA, Germany, Holland, France, Italy, Greece, Poland, Spain and in many cities of Russia. Kopachevsky gained particular popularity in Japan, where he recorded a disc with piano works by Chopin specifically commissioned by the NHK television company.
Philipp Kopachevsky participated in many international festivals, including the festivals named after. A. D. Sakharov (Nizhny Novgorod) and in memory of Vera Lautard-Shevchenko (Novosibirsk), the Steinway Festival, the Piano Festival in Miami, the Arts Naples World Festival (USA), the Colmar International Festival (France), the Festival in Memory of M. Rostropovich (Baku), the festivals “Baltic Seasons” (Kaliningrad), “Vladimir Spivakov Invites”, “Stars on Baikal”, Crescendo, “Denis Matsuev Invites” and others.

Philipp has also been a participant in the programs of the St. Petersburg House of Music since 2013.
He took part in the Russian premiere of the ballet “Without” by choreographer Benjamin Millepied on the stage of the Mariinsky Theater.
He is a laureate of eight international competitions, including the Franz Schubert International Music Competition in Dortmund (2005; III prize and special prize) and the International Piano Competition in Memory of Vera Lautard-Shevchenko in Novosibirsk (2006; I prize).

In 2015 he released a solo disc with works by Liszt, Schubert and Janacek, in 2016 with works by Scriabin and Liszt, in 2018 with works by Brahms. In 2017, together with violinist Haik Kazazyan, he recorded an album with Grieg’s violin sonatas; in 2020, in collaboration with pianists Morta Grigaliunaite and Saskia Giorgini, he recorded sonatas by Janacek, Enescu and Grazyna Bacewicz; in 2021, together with pianist Lukas Geniušas, he released the album 24 Preludes (works by Rachmaninov and Scriabin).

Philipp is a laureate of the Parabola youth award of the Andrei Voznesensky Charitable Foundation (2017).
