The Zagreb Soloists and Boris Andrianov Perform to Prolonged Ovation

The Zagreb Soloists, joined by cellist Boris Andrianov, performed at the Museum of Apoxyomenos in Mali Lošinj. The performance was part of a tour that had already taken the musicians to Pula and Rijeka, with Zagreb as their next destination.

The program opened with a performance by the Zagreb Soloists, led by concertmaster Sreten Krstić, and featuring one of the ensemble’s eleven members, cellist Vid Veljak—originally from Rijeka with roots in Cres. Together, they presented Amando Ivančić’s Symphony No. 9.

The arrival of Mr. Andrianov on stage, joined by percussionist Luis Camacho Montealegre, marked the centerpiece of the evening—Jacob’s Dream, a concerto for cello and string ensemble by Israeli composer Baruch Berliner. Continuing the program, the Zagreb Soloists performed Paganini’s Caprices No. 9 and No. 24.

For the encore, Mr. Andrianov appeared alongside the ensemble, and together they performed excerpts from Berliner’s new, still unfinished work—the Abraham cello concerto. The audience responded with prolonged applause.

On behalf of the organizers, director Zrinka Ettinger Starčić and Cristoforium Art founder Danijel Gašparović welcomed the audience before the concert. The event was also attended by Dr. Berliner’s producer Nachum Slutzker.
