Video of the Chinese premiere of Fantasia Concertante No. 2 for piano and orchestra

On January 1, 2026, Israeli composer Baruch Berliner’s Fantasia Concertante No. 2 for Piano and Orchestra was performed for the first time in China in Changsha.

The conductor was Jianan Yan, the first Chinese to receive a doctorate from the Tchaikovsky Moscow Conservatory.
Dr. Yan studied at the Moscow Conservatory, the St. Petersburg Conservatory, and the Lviv Conservatory under Leonid Korchmar, Yuri Lutsiva, and Stanislav Dyachenko. He also participated in a master class taught by conductor Benjamin Zander at the Royal Academy of Music in London. Dr. Yan currently serves as chief conductor and artistic director of the Tianjin Symphony Orchestra and is a faculty member of the Tianjin Conservatory of Music.

The piano part will be performed by Shengge Song.
