Video Premiere: “El Maleh Rachamim” Performed by the Israeli Vocal Group Total Vocal
A video featuring a vocal version of the composition by Baruch Berliner, Nachum Slutzker, and Sergey Krutsenko (RIP) has been released. It was prepared and recorded by the Israeli vocal group Total Vocal specifically for the Holocaust memorial project www.elmalehrachamim.com. The video was filmed by David Edri and his company WE Productions at the Hasharon National Park (Israel).
The composition “El Maleh Rachamim” is the soundtrack to the film Address on the Wall, which recounts the World War II tragedy at Babi Yar. Active since 2012, Total Vocal is an Israeli vocal group renowned for its distinctive style that blends pop music with a cappella elements. The ensemble brings together several professional vocalists graduates and instructors from the Rimon College of Music in Israel—who create musical compositions without instrumental accompaniment, relying solely on their voices.
Total Vocal performs extensively both in Israel and abroad, showcasing their talent at festivals and music competitions. The ensemble focuses on original arrangements and compositions, with both cultural heritage and contemporary musical trends serving as its sources of inspiration.
The composition was transcribed by the group’s leader, arranger and vocalist Kineret Erez.
Produced by Nachum Slutzker.
