World Premiere: First Movement of the Genesis Organ Concerto

On July 31, the first movement of the Genesis organ concerto will receive its world premiere in Kaliningrad. Based on Baruch Berliner’s symphonic poem of the same name, the concerto was arranged by Moscow-based composer Andrey Pospelov.

Dr. Berliner’s composition will be performed by Evgeny Avramenko, an accomplished award-winning concert organist and frequent performer at leading organ venues in Russia and abroad.

Principal organist at the Church of St. Anthony’s in Damascus from 2005 to 2008, Mr. Avramenko has been the titular organist of the Kaliningrad Cathedral since 2016. He is a member of the Association of Organists and Organ Builders within the International Union of Musicians and one of the founders of the Russian Organ Community.

The concert will take place at Fort No. 1 ‘Stein’, a designated cultural heritage site, and is expected to become a landmark event in the city’s cultural life.
