Call for applications for the new international festival of modern ballet “genesis ballet festival” 2023

The international festival of modern ballet “Genesis Ballet Festival” will be held in the heart of Kyrgyzstan – the city of Bishkek, in the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Maldybaev.

This year the festival will take place from 16 to 22 October.

The main goal of the festival is the development of modern ballet art, the popularization of ballet art in Kyrgyzstan, the exchange of experience between theaters, as well as the acquaintance of the audience with the work of the Israeli composer Baruch Berliner and his Baruch Berliner’s Genesis International Project.

The festival participants are ballet soloists of professional theater groups.

The festival is held within the framework of cooperation between Baruch Berliner’s Genesis International Project and the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Maldybaev.
Baruch Berliner’s Genesis International Project is an international project that brings together many talented people from all over the world – composers, arrangers, conductors, musicians and many others. The works of the project are already performed in 31 countries of the world with constant success, and many artists and musicians loved them so much that they remained associated with the project and contributed to its development.
The symphonic poem “Genesis” is the central work of composer Baruch Berliner and producer Nachum Slutzker, who are the founders and ideological inspirers of the Baruch Berliner’s Genesis International Project.

In 2022, a contemporary ballet to the music of the Symphonic Poem was staged at the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Maldybaev. The performance received excellent reviews from critics, entered the repertoire of the theater and took part in the tour of the Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Maldybaev in Russia.

The Kyrgyz National Academic Opera and Ballet Theater named after A. Maldybaev is the leading theater in Kyrgyzstan, the keeper of the traditions of the national ballet and the heritage of the Kyrgyz culture and the flagship of contemporary art in the Kyrgyz Republic.
The repertoire of the theater includes both classical and modern productions.
The theater has a magnificent hall for 850 seats, made in a classical style, a large stage and equipment for working with video projections.

Applications for participation in the festival are accepted until July 15, 2023.
