Genesis Symphonic Rock Show

Especially for the 55th anniversary of the artistic director and chief conductor of the Kostroma Provincial Symphony Orchestra, Pavel Gershtein, the team prepared a unique project – a multidisciplinary show “GENESIS”, combining symphonic and rock music, live vocals and elements of dramatic theater and recreating the events of the first chapters of the Old Testament.

The “GENESIS” project originated at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, when Doctor of Mathematical Sciences, Baruch Berliner showed his compositional samples to professional musician Nachum Slutzker. He was delighted with the scientist’s “sketches” and heard echoes of biblical history in them. This is how the symphonic poem “Genesis” came into the world, to which rock compositions composed by the young Kaliningrad musician Eugeniy Atsapkin and vocal parts were subsequently added. Today “GENESIS” is a full-fledged symphonic rock show with the participation of a symphony orchestra, rock band, vocalists and dramatic actors, which was seen by viewers in 19 countries around the world. The Kostroma version promises to be even more interesting, because a young theater director from Moscow, a graduate of GITIS, Vladimir Bilyk is working on it.
