Orchestra of Pavel Gershtein performed “GENESIS” in Kostroma

On November 17, Kostroma residents witnessed an event that was stunning in its scale and level – the show “GENESIS” was performed with great success in the House of Music.

With this incredible multi-show, combining symphonic and rock music, live vocals and theater, the chief conductor and artistic director of the Kostroma Provincial Symphony Orchestra, Pavel Gershtein celebrated his 55th birthday.

The “GENESIS” project was based on the events of the first chapters of the Old Testament: the love and sin of Adam and Eve, the friendship and enmity of Abel and Cain, the doubts and courage of Noah, the flood consuming the earth, and the hope that love will still win in the world.

The music for the project, which has already been shown in 31 countries around the world, was written by Israeli composer Baruch Berliner, a student of musician and teacher Nachum Slutzker, who became not only the composer’s like-minded person, but also the producer of his projects.

Slutzker connected the author of the music “GENESIS” and the Kostroma residents. To welcome the audience of our city, he arrived from Tel Aviv with transfers in five countries! From the stage of the Kostroma House of Music, the Israeli guest said that the orchestral work “GENESIS” by Berliner, co-authored with the Russian composer Eugeniy Atsapkin, was transformed into the format of a symphonic rock show. Pavel Gerstein and his symphony orchestra, as well as other creative groups, including the Gloria Choir of Kostroma State University, boldly took on the production in Kostroma.

The entire intelligentsia of Kostroma gathered in the hall of the House of Music. The audience was impressed by the amazing symbiosis of so many different musical genres, vocals, theater and dance plastics. Afterwards, people shared their impressions of the action on stage and did not skimp on their excellent assessment of what they saw:

— Amazing voices of performers accompanied by an orchestra, amazing meanings! It felt like I was on the set of a movie. Pavel Gershtein is a Maestro with a capital M, a world-class star. It’s such a blessing that we can go to his concerts and be involved in his work!

— An extremely unusual production for the Kostroma stage! I wanted to listen and listen to music and immerse myself in the creation of the world by consciousness.

— Extremely powerful thing! This made my soul stir, think, feel. The power of the music and the depth of thought put into the production left an indelible impression!

— The main messages contained in the work are extremely relevant now. We listen to music and think about peace, about pain and suffering, about forgiveness and about love.

“Wars have no place on this earth!” – God said there in “GENESIS”, and the music confirmed this. There was magic happening on stage, which maestro Pavel Gerstein and his orchestra presented to their audience.
